The demonstrators have every intention of tarnishing the celebration, or even spoiling it, on Saturday January 11 by protesting in the streets before and during the greeting ceremony of Mayor LR of Noyon, Sandrine Dauchelle. The movement that started from associations now also spreads and agglomerates the tradersof the elected and Noyonnais. Michel Lebruntechnical director of the Judo club Noyon, will file a declaration of demonstration today, Tuesday January 7.
Michel Lebrun, you are organizing an event on the day of the vows ceremony, Saturday January 11. What is planned?
We will meet at 4 p.m. Saturday at Place Saint-Jacques. We are going to declare this Tuesday, January 7, a march from the square via rue de Paris to the Théâtre du Chevalet where the wish ceremony will be held.
Do you think the demonstration will be authorized?
The mayor always has the possibility of issuing an order to prohibit it. It remains a risk. But authorized or not, it won’t change much. It’s perhaps even better for her if she is: otherwise, we’ll meet directly at the Easel and earlier to be sure to be in the front rows at her ceremony.
What are the demands?
It is not only a meeting for associations after the reduction in our subsidies. There will also be traders who have suffered the full brunt of the increase in local taxes and some of whom are not paid for their services for the town hall or the com’ de com’.
Traders also started a movement of discontent a few weeks ago. Their president Patrick Gautier was received at the town hall. She (Sandrine Dauchelle, Editor’s note) told them that she was going to pay the late bills, but nothing is done, or it’s like the associations’ subsidies: it’s paid right or left depending on their needs. good will. Mastouri (the general director of services, Chokri Mastouri, Editor’s note) said, according to the feedback we had from several agents, “those who piss us off, we don’t pay them.”
There will also be mayors from the community of communes: those who voted for the suppression of Sandrine Dauchelle’s delegations to the Pays Noyonnais will either be there or represented.
Will the agents who had already demonstrated in May be present?
The problem with agents is that everyone talks, but off the record. It has created such a climate of terror, of unimaginable pressure, that they are afraid. We try not to put them at odds. You know, as associations, we work with them on a daily basis and we know their suffering. But for Saturday, they will be with us in heart, but not physically.
Concerning the associations, is the objective still to recover the 50,000 euros in subsidies promised (out of the 100,000 euros deleted) ? Sandrine Dauchelle made the proposal this summer. What about it?

We don’t hear about it anymore. But we really don’t expect anything anymore. You should already know that not all the associations have yet been paid. Like the jazz festival association or Passion Needle. These are associations which include people who have been politically engaged in the past behind Patrick Deguise (former mayor of Noyon, now opposition councilor, Editor’s note). But that has nothing to do with it. Or at least it shouldn’t come into play. And to talk about the Judo club, we received 2,000 euros, or 50% of the 40% we were supposed to receive. Or almost nothing.
The goal of the demonstration is to bring together all the anger, to address all the problems of associations, traders, elected officials, citizens, to put everything together and put it under the nose of the team that manages. And we obviously do this on the day of a vow ceremony which could have been canceled as we see everywhere: she persists in organizing her ceremony despite the financial situation of the city because it is the only thing that she put in place. No one is fooled by what she is doing, by how she takes hostage the high school graduates invited on January 11 when usually, they are received at the town hall. She also invited school children for their drawings, but there were a thousand and one other ways to showcase them free of charge.
Will athletes be rewarded like every year at the ceremony?
She asked several athletes who had remarkable results last year to come and collect their medals from the city. But athletes will stay outside in solidarity with their clubs, and to demonstrate. This city medal has become the only reward that no one wants to receive. It has become a shame.
