On Saturday, November 30, Pévèle Carembault is organizing Arbor Day in collaboration with volunteer municipalities. This initiative aims to plant 2,500 trees and shrubs as part of the local policy in favor of biodiversity. The municipalities participating in this ecological effort are Aix-en-Pévèle, Bachy, Bouvignies, Camphin-en-Pévèle, Cappelle-en-Pévèle, Coutiches, Cysoing, Genech, La Neuville, Louvil, Ostricourt, Pont-à-Marcq, Templeuve-en-Pévèle, Thumeries and Tourmignies.
As part of the Trame verte, trame bleue program, Pévèle Carembault supports municipalities with funding for the purchase of certain trees, shrubs, and the creation of ponds, in order to promote biodiversity. In 2024, 15 municipalities responded to this call for projects and will actively participate in planting hedges, creating orchards or biological corridors to support local flora and fauna.
The plants will be delivered to the municipalities on November 29, and it is up to you, young and old, to take part in this day. The plantation program provides for various actions in the participating municipalities. In Cappelle-en-Pévèle, planting will begin at 9 a.m. with a gathering at the town hall. In Cysoing, an orchard will be created from 10 a.m., while in Genech, hedges and trees will be planted between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. La Neuville will see the creation of a rural hedge from 10 a.m., and Louvil will focus on the planting of 10 trees for an orchard at 11 a.m.
The objectives of the day include raising awareness about the preservation of biodiversity, the planting of local species, the development of biological corridors, as well as the creation of cohesion between residents around biodiversity.
This day, organized by the Pévèle Carembault Community of Communes, which brings together 38 towns and villages, is a real opportunity to actively contribute to the preservation of the environment while promoting solidarity and local commitment.
