Hugs with boots, a local resident Chemin du Châtelain at Noyonconfirms: “We had a little fleet but that will be fine. We will have to wait for it to dry now. ” His basement was floodedin the evening of this Wednesday, January 29.
A blocked drain
The end of the Châtelain Chemin (near the Lude Plastic Factory) was flooded in the evening of this Wednesday, January 29. The water has invaded the roadway, taking with it a little mud. The rise of waters is originally bad weather of the past few days that have done overflow The river of the Pour which goes below the way behind the dwellings. But another phenomenon also explains the floods: the poor evacuation of rainwater, the fault of a blocked drain.

At the end of the Châtelain Chemin, Franck Devos testifies. “There were people on Wednesday evening: the firefighters, the Lyonnaise des Eaux (Suez, Editor’s note), the town hall … Already last month, the Lyonnaise had come because the drain which brought back the rainwater to the versa was blocked. And there we had the same problem. They had to have a part of the cap and the cap moved a little further. Suddenly Wednesday evening, the water was no longer evacuated. The neighbors had their flooded cellar. ”

Precedents
According to another neighbor, the firefighters stayed until midnight to pump the water in the flooded property and in the street which was flooded.
For Christian, retired, these floods are not new. “I’ve been living here for 20 years, we have already seen it three or four times. So we always monitor the rise of waters a little. But hey, nothing to do with what’s going on in Brittany. At least at home, there is no water. It’s mounted to my garden, that’s all, ”he puts it into perspective. And to continue: “When we had built, we knew that it could happen, this is the reason why, we had to build while respecting a minimum distance with the bottom of the property where the line flows.”
A couple had to invest in pumps
He also a resident of the Châtelain Chemin, Guy reports that for two years he has lived here, it is the third time that he has seen the water invade his garden. “The Oise Aisne agreement has carried out work on the banks of the pay. They had to be completed for the end of the year or early 2025, but with bad weather, they will not be finished until October 2025. We can hope to be quiet. ” And to entrust: “For the moment, we dare not be absent for a few days.”
And faced with the risk of floods, Guy and his wife had to invest in water pumps.
