One year after the start of the work, thedrinking water treatment unit of Longueil-Sainte-Marie has been operating since mid-November. It delivers a superior quality water to 5700 inhabitants of the territory of the Estrées plain.
The inhabitants of Longueil-Sainte-Marie, Rivecourt, Le Fayel, Canly and Rémy but also of Jonquières, Jaux, Verberie, Le Meux and Armancourt now have better quality water.
This Longueil-Sainte-Marie treatment unit is more precisely a “membrane treatment unit for perchlorates and water hardness”.
A pioneer in the Oise, Plaine d’Estrées invested 2.8 million euros in this new equipment, with a subsidy from the Department of Oise of €90,000.
Softer, less limestone, healthier water
Some of the region’s inhabitants now have softer water. Its lime content halved helps extend the lifespan of household equipment.
This water is also safer because it has eliminated many micropollutants (perchlorates and emerging elements present or future). If health standards change tomorrow, the treatment unit will be able to adapt without problem.
This water, of a quality at least equal to that offered in commercial bottles, is “much cheaper. At less than 6 cents per liter, it can be consumed by everyone, including pregnant women and infants.
For this work, Plaine d’Estrées called on regional companies located in Verberie, Arras or Compiègne. Hydréa, the company that built this unit, is located in Lacroix-Saint-Ouen.
