Motorists who take the departmental 136 (D136) will have to be extra vigilant. Or, quite simply, scrupulously respect the speed limits… They risk being fooled by a sort of little trap set by the authorities on this road which connects Ormoy-Vilers has Crépy-en-Valois.
This little trap takes the form of a radar Alice -for Autonomus Lidar Concept for Enforcement- installed just before the entrance to Crépy-en-Valois. It is not announced by a sign… This mobile radar, which looks like a large white box, is now well known to road users. But this equipment has the particularity of having been installed a stone’s throw from the radar – fixed, this one – located at the exit of Ormoy-Villers, in the direction of Crépy-en-Valois.
A barely visible Alice radar
Angry farmers had the good idea, or not, to cover this fixed radar which, as a result, became completely harmless. The danger formotorist in a hurry, or distracted, who goes to Crépy-en-Valois, is to think that nothing can happen to him anymore and that he is relaxing somewhat… Because the famous Alice, relatively hidden by tall grass, is not far from the temporarily covered radar. This is where the trap lies.
Did the authorities intentionally install it there?
It is not known when the Alice radar was installed. However, we can think that it was placed there after the action of farmers. Otherwise, it would probably have suffered the same fate as that of Ormoy-Villers. It is therefore not impossible to imagine that the authorities chose to install it there precisely to trap motorists. If this second hypothesis is correct, it is not very fair play on their part.
Vigilance, therefore, for users of this section. Unless the farmers don’t take care of this Alice quickly. We say that, we say nothing…
