The Hauts-de-France Conservatory of Natural Spaces continues its mission to preserve natural spaces and biodiversity with an ambitious objective: to reach 2,000 members by the end of 2024. In less than a year , the association saw its number of members increase significantly, from 1,755 on December 31, 2023 to 1,930 on September 15 2024, illustrating the growing commitment of the region’s inhabitants to the environment.
The Conservatory works daily to protect the region’s fauna, flora and natural spaces, and each membership is a direct support for biodiversity. In addition, all funds from memberships and donations are fully reinvested in the acquisition and management of protected natural areas. Today, the association manages nearly 580 natural sites, covering approximately 19,000 hectares of protected areas.
For the association, reaching 2,000 members is an important milestone. As Christophe Lépine, President of the Conservatoire, points out, “The more of us there are, the stronger and more visible our action will be. As a member, everyone becomes an actor in the protection of natural spaces. Every support is essential to respond to growing environmental challenges and strengthen our capacity for action on the ground. »
