We expect Rainer to be among the top 10 picks. He is known for his strong arm and power at the plate, he should stick at shortstop in the pros.
- Theo Gillen, Westlake (Austin, Texas)
Gillen’s hitting ability makes him a first-round prospect. Despite a shoulder injury that might move him to second base, his speed and overall talent make him a valuable pick late in the first round.
- Kellon Lindsey, Hardee (Wauchula, Fla.)
Lindsey has risen rapidly in the draft rankings thanks to his excellent speed. Although power hitting is a work in progress, he is projected to go late in the first round or early in the second.

Sanford is well known to us for his fielding. He is one of the best defensive shortstops in the draft. He could be picked early in the second round.
- Tyson Lewis, Millard West (Omaha, Neb.)
Lewis has a strong arm and speed, with improved power hitting this spring. He is likely to be selected in the middle of the second round.

With a strong arm and the ability to hit for average, Johnson is a balanced player. He should be picked in the middle of the second round.

Dickerson’s record-breaking 18 home runs this spring make him a standout power hitter. Coupled with his speed, he is projected to go late in the second round.
- Caleb Bonemer, Okemos (Mich.)
With a strong arm and good power, Bonemer is expected to be a mid-third round pick. Improvement in his batting average could boost his prospects.
- J.D. Dix, Whitefish Bay (Wis.)
Dix is a defensive specialist with a better-than-average arm. Limited power due to a shoulder injury, but still a solid mid-third round pick.
