For thirty years, on the edge of the Oise side canal, right on the border between Noyon And Morlincourtthe address was known as Café du port. Covid, which has caused more than one to suffer restaurant went through there. The establishment ceased definitively in 2023.
“For sale”: the ideal location of the business, a few minutes from the center of Noyon, but in a green and exotic environment, did not make Boris and Raphaël, two investors, hesitate. With Michel Tronchon, whom they placed in charge of the restaurant, they decided to take over the Café du Port in a place transformed from floor to ceiling, and which is now called The plural.
Bistronomy: three different starters, main courses and desserts every day
It is Boris who explains the philosophy of the place: “Here, we have bistronomy. It’s three different starters, three main courses and three desserts every day, made as soon as possible with local products. Le Pluriel notably serves its own bread, butter and terrine. Example of a main dish offered for lunch this November: sliced poultry, chicken with mushrooms, hake back with Vichy rice and carrots or even blanquette of veal.
Open since this summer after long months of work (and ten months of closure), Le Pluriel has started to find its audience. “It’s going well, we’re making constant progress and we have 4.8/5 reviews on Google,” explains Boris, who mentions “good word of mouth.” One of the secrets of this satisfaction, according to him, is the quality of the staff. “We only have professionals, the director has 30 years of experience, we have a chef and a bartender each with ten years behind them,” he explains. The staff is completed by a head chef, a second and a cook.
Tailor-made cocktail with the local bartender
“The bartender is something that we like to highlight,” continues Boris. At the end of the week, with the idea of a little time spent between colleagues before the weekend, we have happy hour aperitif boards with cocktails served by a real bartender: it makes a difference,” enthuses -he. Le Pluriel seeks to diversify its audience: “During the week, there are a lot of people who work, and come at midday on their lunch break, at the weekend it’s more family. We also have an audience of gray heads,” Boris lists. The restaurant, however, “starts to do well in the evening,” reports the owner. In the evening and on weekends, Le Pluriel also has pizzas on the menu. Eat in or take away.
Make yourself known
To help further increase its visibility, the establishment located away from the houses, Route d’Orroire, has installed a small giant mannequin which moves in the wind at the foot of the establishment. With the same concern for visibility, the restaurant organizes musical-themed evenings, karaoke, various activities… “We would like to offer stand-up”, announces one of the owners, who “is also launching a call for local talents “. As for the products, at Pluriel, we prefer to work in Noyonnais. “We have not yet established all our supply chains,” notes the boss on this subject, “but we really want to focus as much as possible on local, seasonal and good products.”
The establishment can finally, in fact, pride itself on having without doubt the most unique terrace in all of Noyon. On the edge of the Oise side canal, surrounded by trees, it offers a complete change of scenery just a few minutes from the city center.
But actually, why Le Pluriel? “Because we don’t forbid ourselves anything,” replies Boris. We want to make this place an atypical place where we like to meet, where the service is quality, and where we have something of quality on the plate that we don’t necessarily find in other restaurants around.” . To be verified on document. With its 95 seats possible for each service, and its 45-seat terrace, the Pluriel has something to entertain you with.
