The Recyclerie du Pays Noyonnais now bears its name better than ever. Until now confined to Noyon, in the Mont-Renaud area where it has its workshops and its large store, La Recyclerie has just opened a store in Guiscard, rue Marcel Poulin, opposite the village bar-brasserie. An opening which for the mayor of Guiscard, Thibault Delavenne, represents “a new business in the town”, for the Recyclerie and its director Sandrine Goncalves “a way of reaching an audience in the north of the Pays Noyonnais that we had difficulty finding” .
A real discount store
During the inauguration of the store which opened for the first time on Friday afternoon, the partners (France Travail, elected officials, etc.) rushed to discover the premises. Arranged like a real business, on 120 m², you can find “everything that can be useful to families” summarizes Carine Fernon, director of the Guiscard Rural Social Center who worked with the Recyclerie on this project. Here there is refurbished furniture, like new, there crockery in perfect condition. In a dedicated room, we find toys, books, also clothes or childcare equipment. All for obviously affordable prices. “The goal is that everyone, regardless of income, can have fun,” the instigators of the project explained during the speeches. The recycling director explains: “Here, for example, we have a stroller with cozy for 40 euros, we also find dishes from 1 euro, and most objects, except the largest items, for 2 or 3 euros.
Also and above all an integration project
All these items come – this is the particularity of recycling – from donations from individuals and cleaned, even tested and/or refurbished when necessary, by employees in integration. These same integration employees who collect donations are also those who run the shops, in Noyon and now in Guiscard. Each time supervised by integration professionals. This is how the Guiscard store will of course be a point of sale, but also a collection point. In order to allow residents of the Guiscard area to discover products different from those they could have donated, the items will be “mixed” between Noyon and Guicard.
The new store on rue Marcel Poulin will be open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The store also has a home delivery/collection service for large items.
The recycling plant, which is celebrating its twenty years of existence this year, now has 36 employees, whether supervisors or employees in integration. The recycling center is also looking for volunteers who have talents in repairing electronic objects.
An inauguration also in the form of a political message
The elected leaders of the project said they were delighted with this opening which they made possible by following “with their eyes closed” Carine Fernon and Sandrine Goncalves, the two women who were able to “imagine this new place by spotting this empty shop since two years,” recalled Pascal Dollé, president of the social and rural center of Guiscard, and former 1st vice-president of Pays Noyonnais. The mayor of Guiscard, Thibault Delavenne, congratulated himself on the illustration – with this project which cost nothing (apart from the preparation of the premises and the cost of the rent, entirely taken from the Recyclerie budget, Editor’s note) – “that money is not everything”.
The mayor of Guiscard, today one of the figures of political protest within the Pays Noyonnais, also saw it as an illustration that the Pays Noyonnais, which is currently experiencing a crisis of governance, can despite everything continue to move forward: “We can save the Pays Noyonnais, I guarantee it,” he said. Pascal Dollé for his part, at the end of his speech, wanted to clarify that he had “done his duty by inviting the President of the Country Sandrine Dauchelle”, who was however absent “unapologetically”. Many elected officials from the territory, including former vice-presidents Patrice Argier, Marina Martins, Philippe Barbillon and Dominique Lebrun were also present.
