François Deshayes, the mayor of Coye-la-Forêthad promised it during the closure of the Post Officeon September 1st. A ATM (DAB) was installed on the facade of the G20, in the city center. It will be operational from this Friday, January 10.
The return of an ATM to Coye-la-Forêt is a real event in this town in the south of Oise. Since the local Crédit Agricole branch closed its doors around ten years ago, the Coyens have been deprived of this service. Many had gone to the Post Office to make their withdrawals while others went to Lamorlaye to obtain cash. “It’s still more practical to have a few notes or a few coins to do your shopping or pay for your bread,” explains Martine, delighted to learn that she will soon be able to withdraw money from the Coye-la-Forêt ATM. Especially since not everyone takes the credit card!”
A true partnership
However, it was thought that the Coyens had gotten used to living without an ATM. “But not at all,” smiles François Deshayes. Demand was still very strong. So we took the bull by the horns with the manager of the G20.” The return of the ATM is in fact the result of a partnership between the city and the city center supermarket. Because such an ATM is expensive. “It comes to 1,500 euros per month,” says the mayor, who is also a regional councilor and president of the Community of Communes of the Cantilienne Area. But the partnership put in place means that the Post Office will pay 500 euros to the G20, which itself will put 500 euros out of its pocket, just like the city.
500 euros per month
In other words, the city will now pay the sum of 500 euros each month so that its citizens can withdraw tickets from the distributor. Unless success is there. Because the more withdrawal there is, the lower the “royalty” will be.
