“I heard two gunshots while I was with my dog in the garden. I poked my head into the street. And I saw a small group of three people around the remains of a dead animal which, from a distance, looked like game.” A chicken was made fellat around 1:30 p.m., this Friday, November 15, rue de Chennevières in Grandfresnoy like a common chicken.
On site, rue de Chennevières, there are only a few feathers left that bear witness to the tragedy. The direct neighbors, living in a house with thick stone walls, say they heard nothing. In the house in front of which the feathers slowly disperse, there is no one there either. The shutters are closed.
The neighbor surprised by the two shots notified the police and the town hall. “There are still other ways of doing things…”, estimates the resident who is on his feet.
She gave goosebumps
According to the first witness, this hen did not belong to the occupant of the house where she was killed. It seems that it was on a wall – which, a priori, is not shocking, although a song was made of it – and that it gave the occupant of the premises goosebumps.
She’s going to tingle me with something other than hard bread, this local resident suffering from gallinophobia may have imagined. Fear cannot be controlled: it must be made to go away. Rather than waiting for the hen to have teeth, the occupant would have called on an acquaintance, who would have used this radical method.
The mayor had heard about this hen
“This lady called me about this chicken perched on a wall,” confirms Mayor Ivan Wasylyzyn. But I wasn’t there. It’s a shame, I could have come and caught it with a net. It would have avoided killing her like that.”
“The animal was ringed,” the mayor believes, regarding the gallinaceae, whose nickname we do not know.
In seventeen years in office, the mayor had been disturbed many times by his constituents for potholes. Never for a dead hen.
