It will not be for January 1, 2025. The mayor from Monchy-Saint-Eloi Alain Boucher hoped to win his case. And thus initiate the secession of his village from the community of communes of Liancourtois / Vallée Dorée. And so join within three weeks the Creil-Sud-Oise Agglomeration.
For this, he had high hopes for a meeting of the departmental commission for intercommunal cooperation (CDCI) in the Oise prefecture in Beauvais. But this meeting, held Thursday December 12, did not have the expected result. The college largely rejected the proposal made by Alain Boucher. Monchy-Saint-Eloi therefore remains anchored to the Vallée Dorée. At least for the next few years.
“We need to find serenity”
The person concerned attended the said meeting of the CDCI. Just like “his” president of the community of municipalities, Mayor Olivier Ferreira. When contacted, he did not hide his relief. “We must now find serenity, so that we can all work together,” he breathes.
The intercommunal manager, also mayor of Bailleval, adds: “The community of municipalities wishes to continue working with Monchy-Saint-Eloi. We have already invested 400,000 euros this year. Particularly with the development of its roundabout, around the castle, or the renovation of its pipes.”
Monchy the creilloise?
A good resolution in anticipation for 2025? That remains to be seen. Alain Boucher has still not digested the controversy over the – now aborted – ZAC project in Mogneville. In protest, Mayor Alain Boucher then resigned from his position as vice-president of the community of communes.
For several months, the elected representatives of Monchy-Saint-Eloi delegates within the community council have almost systematically voted with an abstention on each point proposed on the agenda. This, by developing an argument making Monchy a commune in the Creillois basin rather than Liancourtois. And nothing prevents him from doing it again once the 2026 municipal elections have passed.
