The deputies of National gathering want to fight more effectively against illegal camps of the traveling people. Laurent Jacobelli (MP for Moselle) filed a bill in this sense. In theOisefour deputies of the RN have signed this bill.
The bill was registered at the presidency of the National Assembly in mid-October. In Oise, the deputies Philip Ballard, Michel Guiniot, David Magnier And Claire Marais-Beuil support her.
87 RN deputies signatories
In the preamble, the RN deputies explain that they “do not have the ambition to penalize in any way travelers who respect the procedures and legally settle in the areas set up for this purpose”.
But for others, the RN wants to leave more room for maneuver to municipalities of modest size. The RN parliamentarians consider it “unsuitable” to have included them in the list of municipalities required to put in place the facilities necessary to welcome Travelers.
This time, the RN wants to remove from this list all municipalities with less than 3,000 inhabitants. “This simple measure will greatly relieve town halls already faced with serious problems such as demographic decline, chronic lack of resources or even medical desertification. The obligation of hospitality must only apply to municipalities which have the means, in the interest of all,” write the 87 deputies who signed the bill.
Towards systematic formal notice in the event of illegal installation
This proposal also wants to remove all the conditions necessary for the prefect to be able to issue formal notice to leave the premises more quickly. Currently, there are conditions affecting health, safety and public peace. “The illegal installation is in itself a sufficient and legitimate condition for making this request for formal notice to leave the premises,” believe the RN parliamentarians.
Thirdly, they also want to “empower land owners who accept the installation of Travelers”. “If they have every right to welcome them, they must ensure that health, safety and public tranquility will be respected. Failing which, the mayor may ask the prefect for formal notice to leave the premises.” In the event of obstruction, the RN wants to sanction the owners.
The RN deputies believe that “the law must be respected and expulsions pronounced when this is not the case”.
