Joël Coutard died on December 8. Former postman and member of the Saint-Germain-en-Bresle cycling club (Somme), Joel Coutard was known in the sector of Formery to be the president of Golden Domino of the former canton, an association which organizes each year a domino tournament whose profits are donated to the League against Cancer.
“Joël won the golden domino in 1994 at Camps and had joined the circle of members of the associationremember the members of the office. Since 1998, upon the death of Mr. Grelet, mayor of Canny-sur-Thérain, he has assumed the presidency with courage and tenacity.»
26 years at the head of the association
His friends remember a “exceptional person, a unique soul who left his mark on each of us. He was always attentive, always with a sincere smile, constant sympathy and extraordinary determination in what he did.»
President of the Domino d’or of the former canton of Formerie for twenty-six years, Joël Coutard was fully invested in the association and was keen to fight for cancer research. Less than a week before his disappearance, Monday December 2, he again handed over a check for €1,400 to the Departmental Cancer League, while the president of the festival committee added a check for €800. He then specified that the amount of this check represented the sum collected during the last golden domino 2024, won by Olivier Thillard.
