“Regularly, we are questioned about excessive speed on our roads“. Also, the mayor ofErquery Stéphane Lecomte has planned a series of works for 2025. This is to reduce speed and improve street safety. And to detail these decisions during the greeting ceremony on Saturday January 11.
“Given the significant sums to be incurred, this work will be carried out in several phases,” explains the elected official. “In 2025, we hope to have phase 1 completed, from the bottom of rue Pasteur and the entrance to rue Jules-Ferry on the Lamécourt side.”
From works to technical services
As for phase 2, “We are working on a safe development and a requalification of the intersection between the D127 and rue Pasteur,” continues Stéphane Lecomte. “We will take advantage of this work to improve mobility and secure the movement of our pedestrians.”
Among the other works discussed, the mayor of Erquery also mentioned the end of the work for burying the networks, alleys of the church. As well as the renewal of the low voltage network. “At the start of the year, we will carry out renovation work on the technical services building,” he explains.
“A lot of uncertainties for 2025”
For all planned investments, Stéphane Lecomte sets a single limit: the contours of the municipal budget. The elected official does not hide it, “we are approaching the 2025 budget year with a lot of uncertainty. The projects are there, but will we always be supported to finance them?”
“We try not to burn the candle at both ends,” assures the chief magistrate. “Nevertheless, our municipality, alone, cannot finance certain projects or investments.” And to appeal to the generosity of the usual partners: Department, Region and community of municipalities.
