A fake traffic control in the Creillois sparked questions from road users. Alerted, the real ones police officers proceeded to arrest the fake police officers.
The scene took place on the night of Friday November 22 to Saturday November 23 in the Creillois basin. A motorist was stopped by the police. The vehicle was indeed equipped with a flashing light, but the police were not. Alerted, the authorities were able to arrest the fake police officers. The latter were immediately placed in police custody.
The police take advantage of this to carry out prevention
This story was made public by the Oise national police on his social networks. After discussing this matter, the Oise police recall that in France, “only so-called priority vehicles can be equipped with a rotating beacon. This includes emergency service vehicles (firefighters, ambulances), law enforcement (police, gendarmerie) and certain construction or recovery vehicles. These vehicles are authorized to use their flashing lights when they are on intervention or on urgent trips.
The police also emphasize another point: “Using flashing lights without authorization is punishable by a fine.”
Finally, the police remind that “each police officer must be able to prove his identity using his professional card with an electronic chip on which his photo and rank appear. In civilian clothes, a police officer wears a fluorescent orange armband.
