On the weekend of January 19, the best in the 10-meter sports shooting discipline met at the Creil shooting club, ASTir. Quite simply because it is one of the clubs with the capacity to host a regional competition, not their equipment at the cutting edge and the shooting ranges accordingly.
On Sunday, things get busy at the club. Volunteers refine the shooting ranges, referees check the connections between terminal and targets. The time when points had to be counted on the cards is indeed long gone. There, everything is digitized. The impact counted and the results displayed at time T.
Maximum concentration
At the shooting range, concentration is at its maximum. Some play a selection there for the French championships. This weekend, it was therefore at the departmental level that this selection was played out. Precision, whether that of the pistoliers or that of the riflemen, was neither more nor less than the key word of this January weekend.
Each competitor adjusts their own settings. Some put on their suit which has a stabilizing effect and commit to a session lasting several hours. Yes, you need to have endurance, great self-control, unfailing patience and of course exceptional precision. Everyone also has a thought to promote their respective club as best as possible.
It’s serious, but at the same time there is a fraternal atmosphere. Everyone shares the same passion so, when a competitor carefully examines the results of his opponent, we talk, we exchange, we discuss equipment, but also the future of the clubs.
Performance and good humor
In any case, Virginie Fourtin, who wears multiple hats ranging from being responsible for commitments at ASTir to also being president of the CDSTO (the departmental committee), makes it a point of honor to ensure that everything works impeccably. Here too, the key word is good humor, good atmosphere and at the same time, maximum concentration when necessary.
“This discipline deserves to be more widely known. This is why we usually increase the number of open days and sessions aimed at young people at the departmental level. They will ensure the future of our clubs. This sport requires rigor, discipline and great self-control,” assures the president of the CDSTO.
But as the weekend was all about competition, here are some of the following results.
In 10m rifle and team, these are the clubs of Creil (Cassandra Devaux, Julien Alt, Mathieu Morant, Yoan Alt and Lucie Mouchanat), Escopette (Teresa Michelino, Ynès Sevrin, Marylou Faucqueur, Louise Bouzin and Pierre Ossent), Cuvilly (Christophe Dos Santos, Matthieu, Tom and Corinne Vasseur, Margaux Bouvier) and Le Ralliement (Garance Ciret, Gilles Merel, Alexandra Garcia, Evelne Combessie, Yohann Gervois) who make up the top ranking.
For the shooting school, note the good performances of the Escopette with those of Timour Sabaloin, Rayyan Coulm and Camille Graziani.
Finally in the pistol, the following classification closes the results of the day. Creil (Naël Mika, Mickaël Molinillo, Emeline Bulle, Lise-Aurore Goberville, Frédéric Chapron) Clermont (Charles-Henry Lobbe, Thomas Derville, Christian Cockenpot, Jean-Richard Mika), Tracy-le-Mont (Sébastien Carpentier, Christophe Martin , Lucas Splingart, Florence Theron, Fabienne Dumont), Auteuil (Emmanuel Coulombel, Francis Humbert, Corinne Le Corfec,, Jérôme Barreau, Tony Szymaszek), L’escopette (Jérôme Bauchart, Christelle Pelleriaux, Sylvain Le Heurt, Denis Cochet, Didier Nardeau) and le Ralliement (Guillaume Vernaeckt, Antoinette Pollet, Hervé Lambert, Philippe Combessie, Vincent Roussel)
