The most seen film in Clermont in 2024: Un P’tit truc en plus with 1,972 spectators. The feature film by Victor-Artus Solaro surpasses in 26 screenings, the animated film Vice-Versa 2 and its 1,554 customers in 21 screenings. The excellent Count of Monte-Christo with Pierre Niney and its 1,475 spectators in 20 screenings, completes this box office.
These few figures show iron health of the Clermontois cinema. A fortnight before the end of the year, the room located at Place Jean-Corroyer in Clermontattracted 32,000 visitors. Last year, more than 29,000 people converged on this dark room. Not bad for a site that “only” contains 103 places.
The 1985 record falls
And that five-digit number is expected to continue to swell through the end of the year. If only with the current screening of Vaïana 2 or even Wicked in the days to come.
“We have surpassed the 1985 record,” rejoices Léa David, head of the Clermontois cinema. The old cinema and its 181 seats then established this year’s peak attendance at 30,600 spectators.
Note that this increased attendance is accompanied by an increase in the number of family cards (683). As well as school attendance (12,119 children for 198 sessions). Knowing that in previous years, cinema still had to wipe away the scars of the Covid years. Without forgetting the closure for works during the year 2022.
In 2025, opening every day
With such good figures, the Clermontois cinema is also highlighting its projects for 2025. In particular with the establishment of an additional screening on Sunday. Or even open seven days a week.”
“We are also looking to provide more slots for schools,” adds Léa David. “We also want to work on event operations and cultural actions aimed at 15-25 year olds.” This led to the hiring of an additional person in the Clermont room.
Prices slightly increased
The only downside is that the community of communes of Pays du Clermontois decided on Thursday, December 12 to increase cinema prices. These are as follows:
- Full price 7.50 euros
- Reduced: 6 euros for young people aged 15 to 25, large families, people with reduced mobility, retirees, seniors over 65, students and job seekers
- under 14 years old: 5 euros
- “Family” subscription card: 15 euros; 1 year of unlimited places at 5 euros for all family members residing at the same address in the Pays du Clermontois.
