In rural areas, many municipalities are orphaned by general practitioners. Each of them tries to compete in ingenuity to attract them. HAS Amblainvillein the south of Oise, the municipality has turned a humorous video to stand out a little from the crowd. In this video of just over two minutes, residents of the town have a dream: a doctor has finally arrived. Unfortunately for them, on going to the doctor’s office, they discovered children dressed in white coats, stethoscopes around their necks. It was just a sweet dream.
“We had to stand outsays Karen Vasseur-Schirar, elected to the municipal council and osteopath. The flyers? Doctors don’t read them. So why not try a slightly comical video to attract them. The goal is to make people laugh, so that potential interested parties say “hey they seem nice here, why not come”.”
The Amblainville health center is waiting for a doctor
Because in Amblainville, everything is ready to welcome a general practitioner. “We have a health home where a doctor kindly continues to practice so as not to let go of his patients, but he is over 70 years old.continues Karen Vasseur-Schirar. A physiotherapist, two nurses, a speech therapist, a psychologist and two osteopaths complete the health center. We are rich in care, but not in pure medical care. And we can accommodate a private or salaried doctor. Three or four years ago, the municipality created this municipal health center for that. You can hire a doctor to avoid administrative paperwork.»
On November 6, some residents of Amblainville – members of the seniors club and children of the municipal youth council – filmed this video, with Mayor Joël Vasquez. On November 8, the video was online. And five days later, on November 13, Bruce Toussaint promoted it on TF1’s Matinale. “Following this, a practice called us, wishing to install a doctor with usbounces back the municipal elected official. But we know how it goes with this type of practice, the doctors come and leave immediately. We want the doctor to be recruited by the town hall, so that he stays.»
For the moment, the video, which cost the municipality €500, has not yet had the desired effect. But we must always keep hope…
The video is visible on the town hall website.
