The horror. A apartment firerue du Calvaire in Noyonclaimed the life of a young boy on Tuesday evening, January 14. The young victim was only 6 years old. The tragedy occurred at the southern entrance to Noyon, near the town’s sports facilities (tennis, football stadium, swimming pool).
THE firefighters were warned this Tuesday evening around 9:30 p.m. A fire then broke out in accommodation managed by the social landlord OPAC, and firefighters from Guiscard and Noyon were dispatched to the scene. The firefighters from Chauny (Aisne) were also called in for reinforcements. When they arrived, they were confronted with flames emanating from an apartment located on the first floor of a small rental complex. More than an hour later, after putting out the flames, firefighters were still monitoring the fire.
45 minutes of cardiac massage
In this fire, a young boy tragically lost his life. After inhaling toxic fumes, the young child was treated by emergency services. Everything was tried to resuscitate the poor victim in cardio-respiratory arrest. According to our information, the emergency services provided him with cardiac massage for more than 45 minutes. Unfortunately in vain. The child was declared dead by the SAMU doctor. His mother, slightly intoxicated and in shock, was taken care of by emergency services.
According to the Courrier Picard, the boy was a student of theSaint-Exupéry school. He lived alone with his mother. Only the woman was able to escape from the apartment engulfed in flames.
For the moment, the origin of the fire and the circumstances of the child’s death remain unknown.
The Compiègne public prosecutor’s office plans to issue a press release in the coming hours.
