THE firefighters of Compiègne and services of department intervened Friday December 27 around 6 p.m. on a bridge overlooking the RN31 up to Venette. This is the D36e bridge, not far from the exit to the Venette commercial area.
A fall of pieces of concrete had in fact been noted. A large block threatened to collapse onto the roadway. Which would have caused a serious accident given the road traffic, at this time, on this Noyon-Beauvais axis.
On a ladder, the firefighters attacked the offending piece of concrete with a jackhammer to prevent it from collapsing onto the road.
These operations of course required regulating the flow of vehicles on the two roads on this road. At the same time creating major traffic jams.
