Romain Attanasio moved up one place general ranking of Vendée Globe. Currently fifteenth, he has just passed the Cape of Good Hope. But just before, the sailor had a little scare. He opened the arcade.
“It’s not very serious”
“I just got an arch. The rudder hit something at the back, a container perhaps. Suddenly, it was a bit of a shock, I hit the wall,” says Romain Attanasio in a video published on his social networks. And to reassure: “It’s not very serious.”
This Tuesday, December 3, the sailor passed the Cape of Good Hope early in the morning. But the navigation conditions are not optimal. “The night was rather difficult, there is a lot of current in this region. and with the wind, it creates a disorderly sea and it is not easy to go faster. In any case, I didn’t succeed.”
But the sailor keeps his spirits up on his Imoca Fortinet – Best Western and continues on his way. Next important milestone in this solo sailing race without stopover or assistance: Cape Leewin in the south of Australia. Then there will be Cape Horn before heading up the Atlantic towards Les Sables d’Olonnes (Vendée) where the finish will be judged.
