Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, has agreed to debate Kamala Harris in September, but only under his specific conditions.
Facing backlash for initially refusing to engage with Harris, who aims to become the first female president of the United States, the 78-year-old Trump has now agreed to the debate. He stated that it will be organized by Fox News on September 4 and conducted live with an audience present.
The second presidential debate was initially set to be broadcast by ABC News before Joe Biden withdrew from the race as the Democratic candidate. With Kamala Harris stepping in, Trump has announced new terms for the debate on the Truth Social platform.
“I have agreed with Fox News to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4” The debate, previously scheduled with Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, was canceled after Biden’s withdrawal.
The Fox News debate will be held in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at a yet-to-be-determined location. Moderators Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum will oversee the event, and the rules will resemble those of my debate with Sleepy Joe, who was treated terribly by his party, but WITH A FULL AUDIENCE!” he wrote.
Kamala Harris must present her strongest proposals to confront Trump, who is known for dominating the stage. In recent days, Trump had refused to debate Harris, arguing that she had not been officially named the presidential candidate.
“I invested hundreds of millions of dollars, time, and effort fighting Joe, and when I won the debate, they introduced a new candidate. It is not fair- but it is what it is.
Regardless of the candidate, their flawed policies remain unchanged, which will be exposed during the debate on September 4.
I look forward to debating Kamala Harris on September 4. This timing is ideal, as it precedes the start of early voting on September 6 for the 2024 presidential election. I look forward to seeing everyone on September 4 in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania!” he emphasized.
Kamala Harris, 59, has secured the necessary delegates to meet the nomination requirements. She and her advisors must now decide whether to accept Trump’s terms for the debate.
