In a press release published on social networks, the Union of Mayors of Oise (UMO) reveals that the State has asked the municipalities to uncover the radars. Putting an end to the action initiated by the agricultural unions FDSEA and Young Farmers of Oise. But the UMO says mayors have no obligation to obey.
“Although we understand the general interest mentioned by the authorities, the maintenance of radars is the sole responsibility of the State.recalls the Union of Mayors of Oise. Communities therefore have no obligation to intervene, even less so with regard to an approach that could be used politically. It is up to the sovereign authorities to face and manage the actions of the FDSEA and the Young Farmers.»
Many radars still covered
In fact, three weeks after the start of the mobilization, many radars are still covered in the Oise. Even if a few flash again. As soon as he took office at the end of November, the new prefect of Oise Jean-Marie Caillaud mentioned the repair of the radars. He did not then say that he would count on the mayors for that.
