The carousel Order hosted the thirtieth edition of the Wine fair of Senlis November 15, 16 and 17. Organized by the Lions Club of Senlis and the Three Forests, the event attracts a large number of people each year who come to buy their supplies from the best producers selected by the show’s commissioner, Gilles Filho. “Friday evening, we received twice as many visitors as last year,” he rejoiced.
The Senlis wine fair is also a story of friendship and loyalty with exhibitors present since the first edition. “From the joyful team formed by the fifteen winegrowers of 1993, there remain four exhibitors who are still faithful: the Alsatian François Wackenthaler, two Burgundian estates, that of Christian Morin (Chitry, Chablis), Veuve Moroni with Catherine, Philippe and Christophe Jomain (Puligny Montrachet, Rully), without forgetting the Champenois Jean-Luc Gimonnet to whom his parents, present in 1993, passed the torch,” specify the organizers. There are now around forty lining the aisles of the show.
Atypical routes
In 2022, a young winegrower, Anne-Laure Sicard, a healthy Isarian with a unique background, went from the benches of a Senlis high school to the vines of the highest terraces of Larzac. She is the daughter of the mayor of Borest, Bruno Sicard.
Last year it was a direct descendant of the real d’Artagnan, Henry de Batz de Trenquelléon, owner of the Château de Salles estate, in Gascony, who produces wines in the Buzet appellation, who joined the ranks of exhibitors.
Stéphane Heurlier is in his own right a curiosity in the world of winegrowers. Originally from Thury-en-Valois, not really a land of wine, he headed to Bordeaux 32 years ago, when he had no experience in the wine industry. Today he is at the head of a vineyard near Bordeaux under the name “Vignoble Heurlier Stéphane”.
Organized by the Senlis and Three Forests Lions Club
The wine fair is also about humanist and charitable actions carried out by the Lions club of Senlis and the three forests. This year, its members welcomed Fabrice Morgado, Paralympic Games champion and gold medalist with the Cécifoot team, during the inauguration. For three years, the Lions club has supported the projects of the Précy-sur-Oise blind football team.
All profits from the show are re-injected into actions in favor of children, including the fight against pediatric cancer, by sending children to stay at the sea, youth and disabilities. This year the profits will help finance the education of a guide dog for a visually impaired or blind child, in conjunction with the Gaillanne Foundation represented at the show.
