HAS Senlistradition dictates that the mayor takes advantage of the wish ceremony to put back the city medal to some of the city’s most deserving personalities. This Thursday, January 9, Pascale Loiseleurthe mayor, presented this precious distinction to Aristide Dos Santos and Roland Pécheux.
President of the cultural association French-Portuguese from Senlis, Aristide Dos Santos has worked in this position for many years. “Your exceptional involvement and your tireless energy are well known to many of us,” Pascale Loiseleur told him. The events that you organize with the association – raffles, dinner dances, balls, and of course ceremonies and processions – bring together a large number of people and promote Portuguese customs and culture. More broadly, you and your association contribute to the influence of Senlis, and we thank you for that.”
Aristide Dos Santos and the Sacré-Cœur Chapel
Aristide Dos Santos’ involvement goes even further as he works with his team on the conservation and restoration of the Sacré-Cœur chapel in which the statue of Our Lady of Fatima is located. “We are fortunate to benefit in our city from a particularly rich associative fabric in all areas, supported by the volunteerism and commitment of its representatives,” believes Pascale Loiseleur. Also, dear Aristide, please accept the medal from the city of Senlis as a token of our gratitude.”
Doctor Pécheux is also an essential figure in Senlis community life. “A founding member of the Senlis Cycling Club in 2008, you are still part of the office of this association,” the mayor told him. A man of commitment and heart, you participate every year in the organization of the 24-hour telethon on the Senlis velodrome. In 2024, thanks to you and the volunteers, Senlis vibrated to the rhythm of solidarity. Thanks in particular to your mobilization, the Senlis residents have once again shown their generosity. Thus, 4,600 euros were collected to support research and families affected by the disease. A huge thank you to everyone who participated: volunteers, associations, athletes, visitors, and donors. Your energy, enthusiasm and support made this event a success!”
Roland Pécheux leads humanitarian actions
Roland Pécheux’s vocation is also expressed through his profession as a general practitioner. “With your wife, also a doctor at Senlis hospital, you regularly carry out humanitarian actions,” emphasizes Pascale Loisleur. I know your daughter is also involved with you. So it’s a wonderful family story! It is therefore in recognition of your investment and your dedication that I am presenting you today with the medal of the city of Senlis.”
The two “medalists” were warmly applauded this Thursday. A well-deserved tribute for these two men who contribute greatly to the life of the royal city.
