It is at Senlisnear the banks of the riverAunettewhat is hiding Christmas village by Rose-Marie and Jean-Claude Viard. Lurking at the bottom of the Saint-Tron alley, the place is quickly identifiable by its illuminations visible from afar.
Like every year, it has reopened its doors for the end of year period. This Saturday, December 7, is the inauguration. The end of the day was cool and rainy but this did not stop the evening visitors.
A passion for 24 years
This couple from Senlis has had a passion for manufacturing in this village for 24 years. Over the years, it has taken on significant proportions to the point of extending over the entire courtyard and barns of their property. “We modify it and add new features every year,” explains Jean-Claude. The completed set represents weeks of hard work.
“We started it on October 10,” smiles Rose-Marie who is delighted to see the growing success of this event which is now known in the region. “We are open every day, from 5 to 8 p.m., even when we are not present,” she explains, hoping that visitors will leave their impressions in the guestbook made available to them. “It makes us happy,” she smiles. Sometimes visitors we know come knocking at our door.”
“We come almost every two days”
This inauguration evening, the couple brought Santa Claus to the great joy of the little ones who come and go between the multicolored decorations. “We come almost every two days,” says a mother whose little one is getting impatient. “I want to go see the trains,” shouts the child while his parents try to photograph him with Santa Claus. The place has just opened two hours ago and there are already many visitors. There is almost a month left to discover the achievements of Jean-Claude and Rose-Marie Viart. The place will in fact be accessible every day until January 2.
