The quotes retrieved are more akin to pain points than investments. “Overall, it will cost us around 2.5 million euros,” announces the president of Plateau Picard Olivier De Beule. The elected official raises, during the community council on Thursday, November 14 in Maignelay-Montigny, the possible cost of the work to be carried out within the AQLE factory in Maignelay-Montigny.
The community of municipalities owns the occupied premises, specializing in electronic systems for aeronautics, industry and even the automobile industry. Since the start of the year, the administrative part has faced the risk of collapse.
1.7 million, plus benefits
“It costs 1.7 million just for the building,” explains Olivier De Beule during the meeting. “But we also have to take into account all the surrounding areas, and the deviation of the roads.” Which increases the bill to these famous 2.5 million euros.
Added to this is another cost: the rental of the modular spaces installed behind the AQLE building. This is so that the company’s administrative staff can continue to work. “We will have to renew the 18-month rental contract,” continues Olivier De Beule. We must therefore add 132,000 euros.
Still several months of waiting
The elected officials of Plateau Picard, members of the committee in charge of Finance, will have to meet soon. At least to start organizing this operation. This should not materialize for several months.
But the cost made public is already causing some teeth to grind within the community council. “And AQLE would not be interested in buying?” asks one of the elected officials present. Not sure that the Plateau Picard is there financially. In any case, the president of the territory does not take up the suggestion.
A building to break
The problem of the AQLE site mainly concerns the administrative part of the building. The production part remains “healthy”. The risk of collapse is partly explained by the fact that the first structure is not attached to the second at all. As a result, she ended up moving due to lack of stability. The elected officials agreed as soon as the alert was raised that they had to break down this building to rebuild it better.
AQLE has occupied its Saint-Just-en-Chaussée site since 1994. The company employs 110 people on site.
