Completely renovated. And with as little inconvenience to residents as possible. This is the challenge that the La Compassion association and the SHLM de l’Oise have set for themselves. In any case, this was one of the objectives to be achieved when it was necessary to completely rehabilitate the “Rose de Picardie” independent residence. The end result in this establishment located in Saint-Just-en-Chausséetook place during an inauguration organized this Thursday, December 5.
“This building has existed since 1983,” recalls Bernard Dubouil, mayor of Saint-Just-en-Chaussée. He thus gives his approval to the operation: “Here, the objectives have been achieved”. Namely bringing the 48 accommodations up to current tastes and standards. Total amount of the operation: 1.6 million euros, including 375,000 euros in aid.
Not just a residence for the elderly
The La Compassion association manages 19 residences of this type in the Oise department. The “Rose de Picardie” residence has 48 diverse and varied accommodations. They range from studios to T4 via duplex.
Independent living is not only aimed at elderly people. It can also accommodate students, young workers or even people with disabilities.
Objective: live together
“This is one of the pillars that we defend,” we explain within La Compassion. We highlight the space designed to reconcile home and living together. But it’s also about opening up to the city. And Saint-Just-en-Chaussée is a dynamic city.”
La Compassion also wishes to support its oldest residents in “aging well”; This, by offering support, but also interventions and workshops.
