“A truck carrying scrap metal protruding from its dumpster hit the bridge,” said an Internet user, regarding the bridge which crumbled on the RN31. This incident caused numerous slowdowns on Friday December 27 around 6 p.m., at a time of heavy traffic on the RN31, near Venette.
This Internet user says he saw the collision which weakened this D36e bridge, not far from the exit to the Venette commercial area.
A flat tire
This happened the day before late in the morning, explains this witness, who was traveling “in a car, behind the truck and two other vehicles”.
His tire also punctured, because of “the debris of scrap metal and numerous small pieces of flint, which became embedded”. “My rear tires are beyond repair and my windshield needs to be replaced,” he adds.
It was following his report to the police that the firefighters and road services intervened.
