The landfill site for building materials operated by a construction company has been in the news for more than 48 hours in Nogent-sur-Oise.
The site concerned is the subject of real backfilling with a view to development. The materials used come from different construction sites, particularly from the Paris region. Clearly, the destruction of sites and old buildings produces waste that can be recycled as landfill. They are transported by truck at a rate of one every 10 to 15 minutes. The entrance to the site is rather discreet, near the Château des Rochers. The exit is just as discreet… on the other side of the Château de Rochers. To get there, a long, muddy, slippery climb leads to the agricultural plateau of Nogent-sur-Oise.
The project consists of regulating rainwater and runoff and increasing the surface area and number of allotment gardens in the area and installing espalier vines on the hillside.
The police operation aims to dismantle a real traffic in building and public works waste. The waste would present a more or less high degree of pollution, even qualifying as potentially dangerous. This investigation led investigators to Nogent-sur-Oise.
As part of this operation, the mayor was heard.
In Nogent-sur-Oise, it is of course a crisis meeting which is being held in the heart of the municipality, in particular this Thursday, December 5. Jean-François Dardenne, mayor of the 4th town of the department, actually says “he was interviewed in the context of the development of the hillsides of the agricultural plateau of Nogent-sur-Oise”.
He recalls his conviction “that the municipality, the mayor and his services acted completely legally and in full respect of administrative procedures, in issuing the authorizations necessary for the progress of the city project, on the plots which belong to it “.
The chief magistrate specifies that it was at the time of his hearing “that he learned that suspicions were weighing on the practices of the company in charge of developing the site”.
It is these same suspicions which were at the origin of the launch of a judicial investigation. As the investigation is ongoing, Jean-François Dardenne says he is “refraining from any comments” and “waiting for the conclusions to express himself”.
In the meantime, on the site, Thursday, December 5, the trucks continued their incessant coming and going, unloading their ton of rubble. The activity is therefore not stopped at this publication time.
