It was during a ceremony at the Marie Curie high school in Nogent-sur-Oise that the judo club bringing together Montataire, Cires-les-Mello, Saint-Leu-d’Esserent and recently Chantilly, had the honor of receiving the “Club Sportif Engagé” label, awarded by the prefect and rector of the Amiens academy. This rewards the unfailing commitment of managers, employees and volunteers who work every week to promote the practice of judo in the region.
“We are proud to be the first judo association in the Oise to obtain this distinction, created in 2018,” assures Jérôme Magnier, president of the club.
For the record, the “Engaged Sports Clubs” label is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Solidarity, as well as the Ministry of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It rewards structures which invest in three key areas, integration, citizenship and education.
It is about promoting the values of judo, the Olympic Games and sport in general, but also promoting the educational dimensions of the discipline, without forgetting one of the essential facts: making judo accessible to everyone, everywhere.
Suffice to say that this is the fruit of a long process and above all a team initiative. “We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this recognition. Without the unwavering support of the different cities where we practice judo, none of this would have been possible,” confides Jérôme Magnier, president of the Entente Oise Judo.
