He probably didn’t want to spoil the atmosphere. During his wishes to the residents from Maignelay-MontignyFriday January 3, Mayor Denis Flour above all presented the achievements made in 2024. And in a short video broadcast during the ceremony then on social networks, the elected official above all pointed out the only disappointment for the past year. “No social housing has been able to see the light of day or be rehabilitated,” lamented Denis Flour.
A situation that he had already deplored in 2024. “I am thinking particularly of the old residence for the elderly, the housing which burned down or even the projects on rue Antoine-Wattelier”, lists the first magistrate.
The issue of the UAM home not addressed
Concerning the former residence located rue François-Mitterrand and closed for three years, Denis Flour did not mention the controversy of the moment. Namely a project, more or less well advanced, to install a home for unaccompanied minors there. An idea presented by the Oise departmental council before the summer.
The site should accommodate around fifty young people. A collective was created to fight the operation. Denis Flour is also opposed to it, as are the elected officials of Plateau Picard.
Among the achievements in 2024
Denis Flour therefore preferred to keep the positives of the year 2024. Starting with the installation of heating in the church. “Here again, we had to be persistent,” comments the mayor of Maignelay-Montigny. “Between the necessary studies, the opinions of the administrations, the grant requests and the work, it took eight long years to finally see its completion.”
The elected official continues with road safety achievements. He cites in particular the roundabout on rue de Sains and the elevated passage on rue de la Madeleine. Finally, all public lighting was replaced over the past year. LED bulbs now light the streets of the town at night.
