They planned to meet out front. The collective against the establishment of a home for unaccompanied minors in Maignelay-Montigny organizes a demonstration Saturday December 28. The meeting place: in front of the site, the former senior residence on Avenue François-Mitterrand, from 9 a.m.
“We have planned a sitting on site,” explain the members of the collective. “We will also distribute leaflets.”
50 unaccompanied minors on site
It has already been several months since a collective protested against this operation carried out by the Oise departmental council with the SAHLM se l’Oise. This involves welcoming this old residence, to be refurbished, to accommodate around fifty young people on site. Management would then be entrusted to Coallia.
The project seems well advanced, since the Oise departmental council informed the town hall before the summer. The municipality is also opposed to this welcome. The company wanted to use the site to create housing.
A risk for the security of the village?
The elected officials of Plateau Picard also took a position. They voted for a “motion of censure” rejecting this MNA home during the last community council. The departmental councilor of Ressons-sur-Matz and mayor of Frestoy-Vaux Patrice Fontaine also officially took a position against it.
As for the members of the collective, they fear above all for security in the village. For several days, they have covered the area around the home with banners.
