“It’s completely stupid! And I am not far from thinking that those who govern us are too. ” The mayor of Laigneville Christophe Dietrich has used not to hide his dissatisfaction. The last municipal council of January 23 provided a new example. And to push – again – a rant of which he has the secret.
The object of its ire: a new variation of “absurdistan” that represents, in its eyes, the French administration. “For the next six points on the agenda, I have to leave the room,” he announced to his municipal councilors. The reason? These are requests for subsidies for various projects from the city, then sent to the Departmental Council of Oise and the State.
“It’s absolutely debility!”
“It is to avoid conflicts of interest between the public and the private sector,” explains the mayor Christophe Dietrich. However, it turns out that the department has, within it, an elected official called Dietrich Christophe. “We are at a point where we are trying to avoid conflicts of public-public interest.”
And to add: “I was elected to administer this town and I am prevented from doing so (…). It is absolutely debility ”.
A new part in the machine
Suddenly, Christophe Dietrich leaves the presidency of the municipal council to his first deputy Eric Carpentier. The local assembly thus validates subsidies for the purchase of videoconferencing equipment (2,300 euros), future work in rue Portebois in June (289,000 euros), the new playground in the school (26,900 euros), the purchase of 16 computer stations for schools (9,600 euros) or the purchase of new interactive school tables (4,730 euros).
Once these points have been adopted, Christophe Dietrich can return to the council room. To better put a part in the machine. This time it is a question of approving a modification of the contract to relaunch the ecological transition. This must provide funding for projects related to the environment.
“We do semantics”
The main modification? Simply a change… of appellation. The said contract becomes “contract for the success of the ecological transition”.
“What do you want me to say?” We are reduced to doing semantics, ”says Christophe Dietrich. The mayor of Laigneville has it all the worse since the municipal services had worked and presented 52 projects in this context. Results: “They have all been failed because not ecological enough”.
