“We’re ending the year in style.” So comments Christophe Dietrich on his social networks the discovery of a new wild dump on Laigneville. The mayor has made a habit of denouncing these acts of incivility on video. He made no exception to the rule with a message published Monday, December 30. This, a few days after a garbage dump on the heights of the town was reported to the town hall.
“I asked the technical services to clean up, but they didn’t do just that,” says Christophe Dietrich. “They dutifully searched everything on the ground. And they found enough clues, which allowed the municipal police to trace the perpetrator.”
Amount of the fine: 385 euros
The video produced by Christophe Dietrich also shows the said author recovering his “precious” possessions from the city’s technical services. In the background, without it being recognizable.
On the other hand, the individual did not leave with only his waste. “He also comes to recover a fine of 135 euros,” lists Christophe Dietrich. Added to this is “a contribution to the waste collection costs of 250 euros. For the end of the year it’s pretty good.
A single observation in 2023
This is the third illegal dumping observed in Laigneville during the year 2024. Each time, the city services successfully find the author. The mayor, calling the population to witness with punching videos on social networks. The first of the year was the subject of such a procedure in February.
A formula that works? The statistics for 2024 are worse than those for 2023: three illegal dumping of waste in kind this year compared to just one. But it’s still better than eight years ago. Before the implementation of this policy, there were “three deposits per week”, according to Christophe Dietrich.
