The Oise Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) awarded five Quality labels to businesses in Chantilly, Senlis and Lamorlaye on December 10 and 11. This label was created for businesses in the department which are committed to a process of progress and which have successfully followed the program concocted by the CCI.
“Little Place”, a not-so-small store
Virginie Colard, from the Little Place ready-to-wear store, located rue de l’apport-au-pain, a stone’s throw from Senlis town hall, received her distinction from Roger Buhnemann, member of the CCI de l’Oise. Céline Berger, business advisor, commerce and collective actions centers, who piloted the system, and Patrice Regnault, the deputy mayor in charge of commerce, were also there. “Labeling” is done within the framework of an agreement established with the community of communes Senlis sud Oise (CCSSO). The latter was also present by its vice-president Patrick Gaudubois, also elected from Senlis, and Laurence Miroux, responsible for the economic development pole at the community of municipalities.
In a building in old Senlis, the boutique offers a variety of clothing for women and teenagers in two tastefully arranged adjoining spaces. “Frankly, during the audit, there was not much to improve, this label is really deserved,” remarks Céline Berger. For his part, Patrice Reignault admitted that he “frequents the store on a personal and professional basis”. He has already sold other labels in the past, and he sees it as “a flagship store in the city center”. Céline Berger also highlighted “the undeniable advantage in terms of service that opening the business at lunchtime constitutes”, which is unfortunately not common in a city center that is sometimes sluggish in the middle of the day.
“Farmer pleasures”, an enjoyable culinary choice
Philippe Hachelaf, owner of Plaisirs agricoles, a creamery-cheese shop located on Place de la Halle, subsequently welcomed elected officials and representatives of the CCI, the CCSSO and the city to present his business and his professional career which led to settling in Senlis.
A former engineer in the automobile sector, he turned to the cheesemaking business through training provided by the federation of French cheesemakers. During his first installation in Monthléry, in Essonne, he had to face a fire which destroyed his entire store. After exploring several areas, he fell under the spell of Senlis “where people like to eat well”. He has been living in the city center for 18 months. He is delighted with this choice which offers him a maturing cellar under the store, equipment which was decisive in his decision. “It’s not for everyone to do maturing, you have to find a suitable cellar where the vault soaks up the flavors and restores them,” explains Philippe Hachelaf.
The man is passionate about his profession. “I hope to hire in order to pass on my know-how,” he says. “It’s the most expensive store I’ve seen, everything is computerized,” Céline Berger remarked enthusiastically. We feel the engineer behind the organization put in place.” Everything was redesigned during installation, including access for people with reduced mobility. In addition to creamery and cheese products, customers can find, among other things, cold meats, and fresh pasta “and culinary advice.”
“The white horse” wants to promote its label
It was Richard Diril, known as Léo, the owner of the restaurant “Le Cheval Blanc” in Lamorlaye, who received the Quality label from the hands of Philippe Bernard, the president of the CCI, accompanied by Céline Berger and Nicolas Moula, the mayor of the municipality. “I am delighted with the result, my objective is not to make a splash but to continue on the basis of this label”, indicated the restaurateur who hopes to see the city commit to investments in the rue des Arcades where it is located. “The commercial alley will be redone,” replied the mayor, who expects commercial diversity to meet residents’ expectations. Evoking the process which leads to obtaining the label, Nicolas Moula evokes “a necessary outside perspective on the functioning of businesses which is a booster for commercial performance”. “We are not giving this label to the world,” clarified Philippe Bernard, who welcomed the dynamism of the city. The idea is to take into account the customer journey as a whole to achieve overall consistency.
“The girlfriends”, the aptly named store
Sarah Mazari, runs the ready-to-wear store, “Les Copines”, at number 20 rue de Creil, in Chantilly. It is with a big smile that she welcomes Isabelle Wojtowiez, mayor of the city, Philippe Bernard, president of the CCI of Oise, and Céline Berger with whom she followed the journey which leads this Wednesday, December 11 to the presentation of the Quality label. Les amis is a warm atmosphere in which the customer is immersed when walking through the door. Sarah Mazari offers mint tea to customers who are delighted to be able to talk with her about the rain and the good weather while being advised on their expectations. “It’s a welcome that you don’t find anywhere else,” admits Céline Berger. Sarah Mazari has been running her shop for five years, after working at Le Bon Marché. She wants to find premises with higher storage capacities.
“L’olivier” relies on an outstanding team
“We boost people’s morale.” The formula comes from Olivier Fernandez, boss of the “L’Olivier” hair salon. Installed on three magnificently furnished floors since 2006, on Place Omer-Vallon, in Chantilly, it received this morning of Wednesday, December 11, the quality label awarded by the president of the CCI. It relies on a loyal clientele and a “highly qualified” team. “We love the city where we receive a lot of gratitude from our customers,” he emphasizes. The man is also pleased with the involvement of his nine employees. Regarding obtaining the Quality label, he admits to enjoying “feeling listened to and supported”.
“It’s an exceptional salon where hairdressing becomes an emotional journey,” explains Céline Berger, who followed the merchant to achieve this success. But Olivier Fernandez does not intend to stop there. “We are preparing changes for next year,” he begins, “we will first be open on Mondays and we will set up a “Happy color” operation consisting of offering colors at a moderate price. At the same time, we will equip ourselves with a camera which will carry out scalp diagnostics detecting details invisible to the naked eye.”
