“Senlis celebrating”here we go! This Friday, December 6, was inaugurated what undoubtedly constitutes one of the most beautiful “Christmas Villages” in the south of Oise. This Christmas marketwhich took place in the Saint-Pierre space and in the surrounding parking lots, brings together some 70 exhibitors. “It’s so beautiful,” enthuses Céline, who came to the royal city to stock up on gifts for the end-of-year celebrations. I bought this beautiful candle holder, a scarf and a wooden game. Like all self-respecting gourmands, I also bought chocolate.”
Eric Woerth, the MP, also melted for chocolate. Senator Paccaud also made some purchases at the Saint-Pierre space. Just like the vice-president of the regional council, Manoëlle Martin. Pascale Loiseleur, the mayor of Senlis, fell for a Christmas wreath… But that said, this market is obviously not reserved for elected officials. Everyone is welcome at the “Christmas Village” of Senlisthis Saturday until 8 p.m., and tomorrow Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A host of entertainment
“Senlis en fête” is also this Saturday with a make-up workshop and a balloon sculpture workshop, as well as the performance of the famous Feigneux brass band, “Aux brass citizens”. The same workshops will be offered this Sunday but this time with a stroll by the Christmas Jazz Band. Please note that cotton candy is offered this weekend to each visitor, while stocks last, obviously.
Santa Claus will of course be there, Saturday and Sunday afternoon, with his famous sleigh. The opportunity to immortalize the moment…
Later the Christmas carousel will be installed on Place Henri IV. It will be accessible from Saturday December 14 to Sunday January 5, most of the time from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. (except December 25 and January 1).
The Thoré-Montmorrency course, on the deer roundabout side, will host a large marquee. The circus will star there on Saturday, December 14, at 5 p.m., and Saturday, December 15, at 4 p.m. The entry price has been set at 10 euros.
Traders in tune
The traders did not want to be left out. Most of the windows are nicely decorated and the Senlis traders’ association (ACS) has planned a whole program of activities. On the menu: music, Santa Claus and his acrobatic elves, a choir, gourmet breaks.
On Saturday, December 14, customers will be able to do their Christmas shopping to the sound of a barrel organ. You can also warm up by tasting delicious hot chestnuts under the ACS tent, opposite the Commerce brewery
Sunday 15th will see wanderings of acrobatic elves. On Saturday 21, Santa Claus accompanied by his elves will welcome the children under his tent set up opposite the Brasserie du Commerce for photo sessions… He will wander from time to time through the streets of the town while a Christmas choir will also be of the part.
Finally, on Sunday the 22nd, luminous stilt walkers will stroll through the heart of the city…
