We know of municipalities where elected officials get excited and spend wildly. This is not the case for those of Montagny-Sainte-Félicitéa pretty village located between Nanteuil-le-Haudouin And Ermenonville. This is demonstrated by past, current and future investments…
“The work on the belfry of our church is finally finished,” says Jean-Paul Douetthe mayor of Montagny-Sainte-Félicité. Unfortunately, putting our bell into operation will have to wait. Indeed, the cost of its restoration is high and we will have to go through the “subsidy” box to give it a favorable outcome.” The Lelu company has therefore completed its work. “The bill will not exceed the amount initially planned despite additional work (repairing the joints and facilitating the flow of rainwater), rejoices Jean-Paul Douet, who was vice-president of the General Council of Oise, notably in charge of Culture. We are waiting for the photo report necessary for signing the acceptance report for the work from the architect of Bâtiments de France, which will trigger the payment of the departmental subsidy.”
The belfry before the bell
Concerning the famous bell, the city is awaiting the new quote from the Huchez company. “It was by wanting to repair the bell that the work on the belfry was deemed necessary,” recalls the village mayor.
An intervention also took place on municipal housing, located at 5 rue Moitié, as part of the ten-year guarantee. On the roof, the growth of plants had led to rainwater infiltration. Furthermore, the tenants’ sink was replaced by municipal employees.
The plants bordering the fir forest protruded onto neighboring plots. “They were cut by municipal employees,” explains Jean-Paul Douet.
The year 2025 is just beginning. And the illuminations installed for the end of year celebrations are still there. “But they have been partly renewed,” confides the elected official.
Repair rather than replace
The lighting of the city stadium is currently being evaluated. But, be careful, here again, the city will not be able to invest beyond what is reasonable. “Only the replacement of bulbs with LEDs is currently planned. The rail of this same city stadium is also currently being repaired. The municipal agents will dismantle it and try to straighten it. The replacement of this rail is estimated at 500 euros,” says Jean-Paul Douet, who specifies that he is looking for a refrigeration engineer because at the Maison des Loisirs, always very colorful, “a refrigerator is broken.”
Note that the flags installed for the November 11 ceremonies were removed to avoid any destruction. It is also by protecting our heritage, our tools and our flags that we make great savings. However, the thermal weeder needs to be repaired. The regulator costs no less than 300 euros. But this is a necessary expense…
