With the Community of communes of the Cantilienne Area (CCAC), we are rarely disappointed. While in the four corners of the department the ceremonies of wishes follow one another and are similar, the one proposed this Friday, January 17 by the CCAC under the dome of Large stables will be a landmark. It must be said that François Deshayesthe president, and his team wanted to kill two birds with one stone by combining the traditional greeting ceremony with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Aire Cantilienne. And there it is a new one fireworks which was offered to the guests of the CCAC with the remarkable performance of the young students of the Academy of Dramatic Arts of Chantilly or the mini-concerts of the Chantilly and Ménestrel conservatories…
Three busy decades
“It is an anniversary which marks three decades of solidarity, progress and commitment to the service of our territory”, estimates François Deshayes. The Aire Cantilienne was born from a strong desire to go beyond our municipal borders, to dream more big and to build together ambitious projects which, alone, would have been impossible to achieve.”
This model of cooperation has allowed the CCAC to carry out numerous large-scale projects, but also to collectively respond to the needs of our residents. These achievements have had a concrete impact on the area which now has a real network of cycle paths, a swimming pool, intercommunal crèches, etc.
Real shared projects
But even if the atmosphere is good within the CCAC, it is sometimes difficult to get all the municipalities to adhere to truly shared projects. “Particular interests can take precedence over the general interest,” recognizes the president. Everyone legitimately protects their local priorities, but this is holding us back collectively. And yet, the needs of our territory have never been greater: improve mobility, offer more services to residents, support our businesses, support the ecological transition… We have so much to do, and we cannot do it alone . This evening, I want to speak from the heart, as president, but also as a municipal elected official. We must continue to work with what has always been our strength: the ability to unite our differences to build together.”
The coming year and the following ones will not deviate from this dynamic. “Many projects will continue to transform our territory,” assures François Deshayes. And the latter first mentions mobility with the launch of the Aire’Bus last November which offers 26 daily journeys between Gouvieux and Roissy, making thus the economic and tourist attractiveness of the territory even more palpable. The work on the Picardie-Roissy railway line which has started constitutes a major achievement which will redesign the connections between the territory and the entire region by 2028. Finally, in 2025, it will be the start of the Pôle d multimodal exchanges at Chantilly-Gouvieux station, an essential project to improve accessibility in the south of Oise.
Connecting municipalities to strategic centers
“For soft mobility, our commitment is just as strong,” continues the president of the CCAC. In 2025, a new structuring cycle path will be created (The chapel-en-Serval / Fosses station) while that connecting the Parc Astérix is under study. These 2 projects will connect our municipalities to strategic hubs. And so that cycling becomes a reflex for our residents, a dedicated marketing plan will be put in place to encourage its use. We must play our full part in the decarbonization of our territory.”
For families, the CCAC wants to meet growing demand with the creation of two new crèches in Vineuil and Plailly. “This equipment will balance the supply throughout the territory, because our children deserve the best environment in which to grow up.”
“As we celebrate these 30 years, it is up to us to think about the future,” says François Deshayes. The year 2025 must be a pivotal year for the Cantilienne Area. I will propose that we develop, together, a Territorial Project from 2026. We will have to continue to combine our forces, anticipate challenges, and imagine together the future of the Cantilian Area. This project will be an opportunity to define, for the years to come, the major priorities of our intercommunity. It must be the result of collective work, where each municipality, each elected official, each actor in the territory will have its place.
It’s not a question of dreaming, but of anticipating
This project will have to answer concrete questions: how to meet the needs of residents in terms of mobility, housing or local services? How can we support our businesses and assist them in their development? How can we preserve the balance and diversity of the territory, while preparing for its future?
“It is not a question of imposing, but of building,” concludes the president of the CCAC. It’s not a question of dreaming, but of anticipating. It’s not about dividing, but about uniting.”
