In October, FC Salency went pink nicely by participating in Pink October, breast cancer awareness and prevention month. The football club thus collected €90 for the benefit of the ARC. This month of November, the association is continuing its solidarity actions, this time joining forces with Movember, the equivalent of Pink October, focused on male cancers. The movement, which comes from the United States, is also called Mouvembre in France or Blue November.
When the reds turn blue
Sunday November 10, players, managers and volunteers are therefore mobilized once again. During a senior team meeting, the club went blue. Players with blue armbands, a field decorated with blue balloons, a balloon arch for the players to enter, a large audience to encourage them: another great operation!
“Through these symbolic gestures, the club wanted to raise awareness of the Movember cause which aims to raise public awareness of male diseases, in particular prostate cancer and suicide prevention,” explains a volunteer from the association. .
The aim of the operation, obviously being to raise funds for the Movembrer association, the club put blue colored pancakes on sale. “I believe that the club has once again let its values of brotherhood and unity shine through: together, we played the match for the health of men,” believes FC Salency.
