The minister responsible for equality took the time to discover the equipment, those who work there, and was keen to see for herself the initiatives undertaken in the Creillois basin. The minister inaugurated the 99th health center dedicated to women which is located on the 6th floor of Creil hospital. It is in fact already almost the hundredth of this type established in 80 departments.
“But hey, I am one of the ministries who hope that budgets will decrease because that will mean one thing, that there will be fewer needs in the question of equality. For the moment, this is far from being the case!”, notes Aurore Bergé.
Health centers are necessary and more than ever, even in the face of a blatant increase in acts of violence against women. “The start of the year was marked by new feminicides. It’s unbearable and even more so in a society like ours, advocating equality,” assures the minister.
In the Creillois basin, we are taking charge of actions aimed at women and when the minister agreed to come and inaugurate this first in the department, suffice to say that she had on her shoulders, the pressure of many women supported by their associations of defense of rights and freedom.
It is almost 3 p.m. this Monday, January 13 when Aurore Bergé reaches the sixth floor of Creil hospital, the hospital group in the south of Oise. Jean-Claude Villemain has the dual role of president of the agglomeration, but also that of president of the hospital supervisory board. Alongside Pascal Rio, director of the hospital, he shows the minister around the equipment, closely followed by Arnaud Quiniou, sub-prefect in charge of city policy. Also note the national, local and departmental elected officials, Alexandre Sabatou, RN deputy for the 3rd constituency (one of the rare times alongside J.-C. Villemain), Pascal Loiseleur, mayor of Senlis, of course, Sophie Dhoury -Lehner, mayor of Creil or even Adnane Akabli, Dominique Lavalette, Catherine Dailly, departmental councilors. The Senlis prosecutor, Loïc Abrial, also made the trip. In fact, he regularly sees himself involved in files, where behind each of them, tragedies brew. So this establishment is an additional stone erected in the building of equality.
A “secure” home
For the minister, it was a question of discovering the 100% Creillois equipment and which demonstrates limited access to health personnel and of course to women and young women who request it.
This is because on the 6th floor of Creil we can deal with sensitive subjects. Assaults, violence, but not only that. It is above all a health center. A welcoming place where everyone can discuss problems and difficulties with health professionals, all capable of directing them to the appropriate services.
In order to prove that the place must be as safe and secure as possible, you will have to show your credentials to reach this 6th floor.
The teams are preparing for any eventuality and although discreet on this inauguration day, it is indeed doctors, men and women, specialists, who will be on the front line receiving cases of varying degrees of urgency. The police/justice services will not be far away, but it is above all a place of reception, for handling the emergency in itself.
The first idea is above all to fight against violence, all forms of violence. They can be physical, psychological and of course also sexual, which at each level requires the intervention of specifically trained personnel.
“It seems important to me to be present for the launch of this establishment in an area where there is real demand and which has been affected by numerous tragedies. Some are at the origin of a national awareness” mentioned Aurore Bergé.
The young minister, who came in relaxed fashion, did not hesitate to go to the brand new Carrefour de femmes located in the heart of Place Saint-Médard in Creil.
A meeting with Shaïna’s family
On site, she spoke at length with Shaïna Hansye’s family and even went to discover, in complete privacy, the space of remembrance created at the very site of the tragedy.
In Creillois, the minister’s ear seemed to be attentive. Accessible, visibly very committed to his mission, this visit seems to leave a positive mark. But could it be otherwise on a subject which, from the right as well as the left, and one could say that day from the extreme right to the extreme left, find themselves around the same motivation: to make great strides mentalities and punish the perpetrators of unbearable acts much more harshly in a 21st century society?
