THE Lyrics Festivalcreated and chaired by Michel Foubert, returns for a third edition From March 14 to 30. Tuesday, January 14, the Maison de l’Europe welcomed the general assembly of the association chaired by Michel Foubert. The opportunity to reveal the program.
“The idea issued in 2022 was part of the perspective of the creation of the International City of the French Language in Villers-Cotterêts, recalls Michel Foubert, former first assistant to Compiègne. Quite naturally, we had materialized around a historical axis between Compiègne, Pierrefonds and Villers-Cotterêts. Strong links have since been woven between my territories. ” In 2024, the Cité de la langue française welcomed more than 260,000 visitors to the François Ier of Villers-Cotterêts castle.
Michel Foubert remembers taking his pilgrim stick “to bring together the budget of this literary festival that we wanted to access as many people as possible”. The Hauts-de-France region, the departments of Aisne and Oise, brought their obole as well as the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs, bringing together a total of € 2,40,000. “It was on the part of the DRAC a recognition of our action towards populations usually far from the French language,” says Michel Foubert.
“Make French discover with humor”
To discover the French language in a fun way is the credo of the Festival Lymes. “We will again demonstrate it, by presenting texts where humor and song will be present,” insists Isabelle Lambert, director of the festival. She confides that the festival has launched the challenge “to emphasize oral with the basis of writing”. And in parallel, to target young people aged 15 to 25 ”.
The next edition will have thirty-six events. Among which many meetings with authors and writers. Director Isabelle Lambert concludes: “You have to reserve the events fairly quickly in which we want to participate because the rooms sometimes have unimportant reception gauges.”
