In a video published this Friday, January 17 on the social networksTHE AVA collective (Let’s abolish hunting today) announces that one of its activists will be judged in front of the Compiègne court For violence this Friday, January 24.
The events date back to January 18, 2023. A hunt is about to end when clashes break out between anti-hunting activists and huntsmen. The activists filmed the scene before filing a complaint. At the same time, the huntsmen called for sanctions against AVA activists.
AVA does not admit that its activist could be condemned
The case is set to go to trial this Friday, January 24. But the collective deplores the fact that it is one of their activists who appears in the dock. Prosecuted for violence, this young woman named Gwendoline. “The fact that she could be sentenced, even if only to a fine of one euro, would mean that even the fact of being there among these people, of remaining standing and dignified when we are attacked… it It’s already too much. It’s already a crime of lèse-majesté,” asserts Stanislas Broniszewski of the AVA collective in the video.
And the video ends with these words: “Justice must not be at the service of troublemakers.”
Facing court, the AVA activist will be prosecuted for acts of violence. He is notably accused of having made a violent gesture towards one of the huntsmen who lost his bomb.
