For several weeks, Château-Thierry hospital is the subject of exchanges at loggerheads. Some accuse the Castelle interim management of favoring the Soissons hospital, the two establishments being managed by the same person, while others defend it against the regional health agency which will close the four beds in the care unit intensive cardiology clinics in Castel for the benefit of the creation of two new beds at the Soissons hospital. The supervisory board of the Château-Thierry hospital “requests that the hospital cease to be the subject of politically motivated attacks in order to promote the serenity of hospital workers and the confidence of patients”, we can read in a press release.
But behind these positions loom the two enemy brothers from the South of Aisne, namely, on the one hand Jacques Krabal, former deputy and former mayor of Château-Thierry, on the other hand Sébastien Eugène, the new president of the council of supervision of this hospital which is also the mayor of Château-Thierry since 2027.
It is precisely this opposition that Sébastien Eugène responds to when he publishes the press release on his Facebook page, accompanying it with an accusatory comment: “In recent weeks, the association which claims to defend the hospital, but which is only an electoral association led by Jacques Krabal with a view to the 2026 municipal elections in Château-Thierry, led a large disinformation campaign condemned by the greatest number of people. For his part, through two open letters, Jacques Krabal had accused the interim management of wanting to dismantle the hospital, remarks curiously repeated in the same wording by the criticized association “I care about my health, its hospital, its pool of life, I maintain”, a pure coincidence probably…
Whistle the end of recess
Thus, the hospital Supervisory Board, unanimously of its 8 out of 9 members present, has just affirmed its support for the interim management, “rejecting the accusations of disloyalty”.
But then, are these 8 members accomplices in a possible dismemberment of the Castel hospital establishment, or did Jacques Krabal go astray in one more attack against the one he had nevertheless installed in his place in the mayor’s chair of Château-Thierry?
“The supervisory board unanimously noted that the choice of its future direction will be debated and decided following the renewal of qualified personalities at the end of 2025 (3 members) and of the local authorities at the beginning of 2026 (2 members), indicates the press release will Jacques Krabal then be removed from this organization, as he was largely sidelined from the presidency of Renaissance Aisne, but also from the Agglo where his foe was replaced by. Sébastien Eugène, still him? Or will the former MP finally gain the upper hand over his young challenger who, for the moment, is on the rise?
Whatever the result of this new confrontation, it will be fascinating to follow the next exchanges between these two personalities from the south of Aisne.
