THE Prime Minister Michel Barnier took responsibility for his government on the vote on the 2025 budgetNational Assembly. In other words, he triggered article 49-3 of the Constitution, allowing him to pass the text without a vote in the Assembly. France Insoumise (LFI) is preparing to table a motion of censure, which the RN will also vote on. In Oise, the six RN deputies should therefore vote for censure.

The indexation of pensions to inflation, the last sticking point
It was on the social network X (formerly Twitter) that the National Rally group in the National Assembly announced that it would vote for censorship with the left. During the negotiations on the 2025 budget, the last sticking point remained the partial deindexation of pensions to inflation. The RN is calling for the indexation of the pensions of all retirees on January 1st. The measure would cost 8 billion euros.
Concretely, the RN will vote on the motion of censure alongside the left and should table its own motion of censure of the government. This was indicated by Marine Le Pen, the president of the RN group in the National Assembly.
Barnier’s refusal “an affront to RN voters”
In Oise, six of the seven constituencies are in the hands of the National Rally. The six RN deputies from Oise (Philippe Ballard, Michel Guiniot, David Magnier, Claire Marais-Beuil, Frédéric-Pierre Vos and Alexandre Sabatou) will thus vote for censure.
In a press release sent on the evening of Monday, December 2, MP Alexandre Sabatou comments: “Michel Barnier’s government has chosen to systematically reject the priorities defended by RN deputies. This refusal is a direct affront to our voters, and in particular to the inhabitants of Oise, who overwhelmingly placed their trust in six out of seven RN deputies. This contempt illustrates an inability to understand the legitimate expectations of the French and an irresponsibility which can no longer be tolerated.”
“The RN will vote on all motions of censure”
The member for Oise continues: “The National Rally is responsible neither for the institutional crisis nor for the current economic crisis. The RN is not at the origin of the record trade deficit, the 1.2 trillion in additional debt since 2017, the record public deficit or the lies about budgetary projections. This is their failure.”
Under these conditions, “the RN will table a motion of censure and will vote on all motions of censure”.
