It was cool but not unpleasant weather this Sunday, January 12 at Beauvais. So much so that walkers, runners, photographers, fishermen and some cyclists have chosen to go through the body of water in Canada. Taking advantage of the water to go down to appreciate this green setting to the west of Beauvais. But when they arrived, some did not hide their disappointment. “Is it closed?” asked a family when they arrived at the site. Yes, it is farm. Impossible to go around.
Only the part which goes from the green stride portal (which joins the prefecture) to the swimming portal was accessible. That is half of the large body of water and the small body of water where fishing is authorized. In this part, all paths were accessible on foot. This Monday again, a sign on the gates indicated the exceptional closure of the site due to recent bad weather leading to flooding.
Reopening date unknown
With the dry weather and even the sun this Monday, January 13, we could think that the lake would reopen its doors normally. But no. In a press release published this Monday the municipality indicates that the body of water of Canada is closed “until further notice“. Asked about the date of this new order, the town hall assures that it does not know when the reopening will take place.
At the same time, it broadcasts several photos of the edges of the body of water where the water has risen and obstructs passage in places. Photos a little dated because already this Sunday (and especially this Monday) the puddles on the path were only residual. The green stride is perfectly passable on foot or by bike.
