On Avenue Jean-Mermoz in Beauvais (Oise)large signs have been popping up for several days to announce future work. In fact, the busy avenue will be in construction site from Monday January 13. First on a work-study basis until February 10, before being completely closed from February 10 to April 25.
Work that coincides with the start of construction of a new drinking water treatment plant by the Beauvaisis agglomeration. This will be located at the corner of rue de Pentemont and avenue Jean-Mermoz, at the Beauvais exit in the direction of Goincourt.
More than 14.5 million euros
A project to more than 14.5 million euros commissioned by the Beauvaisis agglomeration, subsidized with nearly 5.8 million euros by the Water Agency.
“In order to ensure the treatment of the elements identified and improve the quality of the water distributed, the Beauvaisis urban community is setting up a drinking water treatment plant.indicates the agglomeration. This plant will guarantee quality water to all. This infrastructure will occupy a plot made available by the city of Beauvais and the department of Oise.»
Work in several phases
Who says construction of a new infrastructure necessarily means work. They will take place in several phases. The premiere will therefore begin on January 13. One lane will be neutralized on rue de Rouen until February 14. And rue des Alouettes will be completely closed until January 24.
Then, Avenue Jean-Mermoz, at the prefecture level, will be reduced to one lane of traffic, on an alternating basis, from February 3 to 21. Then will be completely closed to traffic from February 10 to April 25 between the rue Trépinière intersection and the Spontex factory.
Construction of the new drinking water treatment plant should begin in April 2025 and end in October 2026.
