Since Thursday January 9, a video runs on social networks. She shows a high school girl to do assaultbeing put on the ground then severely beaten without being able to move. The scene takes place at Beauvais. Since then, the young 17-year-old victim continues to be threatened by her attackers, despite complaints, and can no longer go to Saint-Vincent-de-Paul high school where she should be preparing for her baccalaureate.
It all starts in August 2024. Where the teenager was allegedly raped by a friend, at her parents’ home. Her children were not present that day and did not realize the facts until much later, in October, when their daughter was at her worst. Naturally they decide to help him and accompany him in the steps to file a complaint. It is this legal action which triggers the hostilities towards the high school student.
Threatened several times before the beating
A girl of her age, related to the boy targeted by her complaint but not at school with her, will then put her through an ordeal. She is regularly threatened as soon as she leaves high school. Each time, several girls gang up on her. Until Thursday January 9 when things take on another dimension.
While the high school student faces one of her attackers, another approaches her from behind, pulls her hair to put her on the ground and begins to chain the blows. Prostrate in a fetal position on the ground, the teenager receives numerous punches in the face, while the two other girls, including the one filming, distribute kicks to the rest of the body. All while laughing and continuing to threaten her. “What did I say to myself? It’s because they told me that I was going to die… I told myself that it was the end», Testifies the young victim today.
An attack widely shared on social networks
Fatally, her attackers published the video online. In a Telegram loop first, before it lands on Snapchat. Videos of fights, attacks and violence of all kinds are legion on these social networks. They always generate a lot of views and reactions. This is what happens to the Beauvais high school student.
“We asked for it from a person who had shared it, she didn’t want to send it to us in full. My son who is not in a relationship with this person asked her and she sent him right awaybreathes, exasperated, the victim’s mother. She has a friend who is now in Cergy-Pontoise (95), she received the video…» The family is desperately trying to stop this proliferation with specialized services. Without success at the moment.
A frozen situation despite complaints
A few days after this attack, the high school student escaped a new tragedy. As she was getting ready to take the bus, she was spotted by her attackers who returned to attack with other people. Helped by a friend, she was able to get on her bus on time. But his parents are worried. For them, as long as nothing is done to protect her, she cannot appear in Beauvais. With the agreement of the establishment, she no longer goes to high school. Even though nothing has yet been put in place for her to follow the courses remotely.
The parents are angry and feel helpless while the girls who hit their child go about their lives peacefully in Beauvais. They demand that justice be done as quickly as possible and that an example be made. “We, as parents, would like it to go quickly», they insist. “What is needed? There has to be a kid in a coma for things to happen?», finally thunders his father.
Fight to avoid further casualties
Because while waiting for “it moves», it is the victim who is punished in this story. “She went to the ice rink every weekend, she can’t anymore because the others go there too and she has received threats. We gave her skates for Christmas, she can’t even use them anymore», exasperated his parents. Not to mention the hematomas and other physical injuries which add to the psychological injuries for their child.
So to speed things up, his parents moved heaven and earth. They contacted the prefecture, politicians, and the high school to prevent possible other attacks. The high school allows students to stay in the establishment until the last moment to catch their bus. They have no feedback from other stakeholders in the area. Also contacted by us this Saturday January 18, no one has yet responded.
