Under the fire of criticism. Members of Collective “No to the unaccompanied minors home” of Maignelay-Montigny they held Racist remarks ? Several migrant defense associations plan to file a complaint for this reason.
In a press release, these different structures denounce several declarations of members of the said collective. Affirmations reported by the Picard mail, after a rally. The same day as representatives of the collective and the elected officials of Maignelay chatted with the departmental officials, at the origin of the household project.
“A nauseating anthology”
Among the signatories of the press release: Solidarity Migrants Beauvais, one hundred for a Clermont roof, Attac Oise, FSU Oise, Solidarité undépass Creil, the Human Rights League of Beauvais and Oise, Emmaus du Clermontois, a roof- Family, the vigil network of the Creillois Basin Schools … all denounce “a nauseating anthology” and at least one “Sentence of unimaginable violence and hatred.”
“What risks could the inhabitants of Maignelay-Montigny run?” Asked these associations. And quote examples published by Le Courrier Picard. “You want them, you take them at home.” Me if I want a dog, I take it at home, “said one of the demonstrators. “Compare these young people to dogs, therefore to animals, is the expression of assumed racist remarks,” deplore the aid associations. “If they are animals, they are not human beings. If they are not human beings, we can get rid of them. ” For them, these words can fall under the gayssot law of July 13, 1990. This aims to suppress any racist act or remarks.
The collective says “apolitical”
From the coast of the collective, it is recalled “that any hateful, discriminatory or racist remarks cannot be tolerated.” From its creation, at least one member, had admitted to having a political affiliation. Note Norbert Despresles, candidate for reconquest in the last legislative elections on the first district of Oise (Beauvais-Nord). But, promised juror, the group created on associations is defined as “apolitical.”
Several members believe, however, that it is “an intimidation attempt”. Another member adds: “This story begins to take worrying proportions I find. We just try to defend our tranquility of life. ”
About fifty young people on site
An unaccompanied minors’ reception center-young migrants-must be created in Maignelay-Montigny. About fifty of them must settle in an old senior residence located not far from the town hall. The site is currently the subject of work.
A decision managed by the Oise Departmental Council with the Salm de l’Oise, owner of the walls. The site must be managed by Coallia. Created at the end of 2024, the collective of opponents fears – among others – for “security” in this small village on the Picard plateau. For its part, the Departmental Council ensures that they have not found other solutions to deal with these young people, either at the request of the State, or that of justice.
